How it Works
* Greater Lansing 100+ Women Who Care meets once per quarter, four meetings per year.
* Each member must commit for 1 year to donate $100 per meeting ($400 per year).
* Each member must bring a blank check to each meeting in order to fulfill the $100 donation commitment.
* At the conclusion of the initial 1 year, a member's commitment will automatically renew for successive quarterly periods, unless written notice is given.
* Local 501(c)3 charities/non-profits will be nominated by members with at least one year of commitment, at each meeting, by placing her name and the name of her charity/non-profit in a container. The charities/non-profits submitted must be 501(c)3 organizations recognized by the IRS, and will be verified as such.
* Three nominations will be drawn. Each of the three submitting members will give a 5 minute presentation about her charity/non-profit. A question and answer period will follow each presentation. The members present will vote by ballot to determine the recipient of the donation. Majority rules.
* No national charities will be considered. The purpose is to help our local community. Local is defined as the tri-county area of Ingham, Eaton and Clinton counties.
* If the charity/non-profit has been presented and has not been selected as the recipient of our donation, members shall wait six (6) months from that presentation to submit the same charity/non-profit.
* Once a donation is made to the winning charity/non-profit, that organization is not eligible for another nomination for one year.
* The charity/non-profit will have to agree NOT to use the names of the group members for future solicitations or give the information to the public. If they do not adhere to this condition they will be removed from future consideration.
* If you are unable to attend the quarterly meeting, you may give your check to a member to deliver on your behalf. They may not vote on your behalf. You must be present at the meeting to vote.
* Members not in attendance will receive an email within 48 hours identifying the winning charity/non-profit and requesting a $100 check made payable to that charity/non-profit be sent to Donna Oade at 6140 Graebear Trail, East Lansing , MI 48823. Members have signed a commitment form and the $100 contribution is expected within 7 days of the winning nomination email.
